1 2 2 6 is a compilation of music that I've created that encapsulates my upbringing in Baltimore. Originally set for release the day after Christmas (12/26), 1 2 2 6 was the house number for my Decker Avenue dwelling in Berea, an East Baltimore neighborhood that molded me. Along with my partners in rhyme Speech and DJ Awethentic, my crew (at the time known as FOA before morphing into Lordz Of Skil and then Illogical) learned the tenets of Hip Hop culture during the 80's, before embarking on separate life journeys in the 90's and 00's. 1 2 2 6 captures some of that innocence in beat format. I'm blessed to see another year on God's green Earth, so this will be my own personal born day gift. I have enough boom bap material to create a dope full-length project, but I am more intent on releasing a few joints at a time until the time and climate is right for Gray Matter (the newest incarnation of my group) to hit the masses. This EP is dedicated to Speech and Awethentic, brothers from other mothers who helped me to find my creativity at a time when I didn't know how creative I could be. Enjoy the sonics, and feel free to support the culture and movement. This is for HIP HOP!
